Why This Film

A more flexible room

Use switchable privacy for meeting spaces, interior glazing and other suitable applications.

We review glass compatibility, the electrical supply, wire routing and control options together.

Choose the right option

If solar heat is a concern, include that requirement in your inquiry so we can verify the system’s heat-control performance.

Smart Film

Smart Film values below come from the supplier technical sheet provided to Blackridge. They are supplier-reported film values; the sheet does not state a test-glass configuration. This sheet does not establish solar heat-rejection performance.

Smart Film

Switchable privacy film. ON is the clearer state; OFF is the diffused privacy state.

Why Blackridge

Your glass comes first

Start with a site visit or send clear window photos for an online estimate. We review the glass and confirm any measurements or additional information needed before installation.

Specified per pane

We don't put the same film on every window. Each pane gets matched to orientation, glass type, and what you need it to do.

One crew, start to finish

The team that surveys your glass is the team that installs the film. No handoffs, no subcontractors.

Frequent Questions

What clients ask about smart film.

Is the private state a blackout?

+

No. The Smart Film sheet reports more than 65% visible light transmission in the OFF state. Light is diffused; it is not a blackout product. Privacy also depends on lighting and the distance of objects from the glass.

Does it need power?

+

Yes. The Smart Film sheet specifies 48–60 V AC at 50/60 Hz for the ON state, with power consumption up to 4 W/m². We plan the appropriate power supply and wiring for the installation.

Does 99% UV rejection mean 99% heat rejection?

+

No. UV rejection and total solar heat rejection measure different things. The supplied Smart Film sheet lists UV rejection but no TSER or SHGC rating. Ask for the specific heat-rejection Smart Film data if heat control is a priority.

Can it be fitted to any window?

+

We assess the glass, exposure, edge details and electrical routing before confirming suitability. Exterior, wet-area and unusual glazing applications require product-specific approval.

Which Smart Film should I request?

+

Choose Smart Privacy Film for adjustable privacy, or Heat-Rejection Smart Film if you also want us to evaluate solar heat control. Your quote will identify the selected system.
